HELLO POG! :D

We are one FANTASTIC cell, even if I do say so myself but all of you are wonderful wonderful people that I'm glad to have met over this year! I couldn't have asked for a better one to start cming in and I hope to get to know you all better next year! (:

Anway, review. Side note, Phyllis and Shereen are so funny! Okay, review of 2008. I had so much fun in POG and to start off, a HUGE HUGE thank you to you all for welcoming me to your lovely cell. I know I'm like consistently late and I'm terribly sorry, it's something I'm still working on. And still failing at. Bad habits die hard. Ah wells. But thanks for being a superb cell in general and for giving me something to look forward to every week no matter what kinda week I've had. (: Here goes!

JOLYNN!

Jolynn is in one word hilarious. She makes me laugh all the time especially before service starts. Thanks Jolynn for all your entertaining stories and jc life stories and all the other funny stuff you say. (: I like your bursts of humour. It's entertaining. Oh and she's been great to work with this year! We made it! One year of cming! HAHA! Oh and without Jolynn, I would never have learnt how to work the ole photocopy machine at church. Oh and Jolynn, thanks for always attending those meetings, you're really nice about that and I appreciate it! All the best in everything you do next year! (:

EVANGELINE!

Evangeline is in one word angelic or maybe saintly. She is seriously one of the nicest people I've ever met! Like really. Thanks for guiding me along in my first tentative steps in cming and just generally being there and being so nice and all the time. (: You're a wonderful friend to have! OH! And thanks for helping me along in lit too! And for the notes. And for everything. Yeah. HAHA. May God bless you! (:

AMANDA!

Amanda in one word sings. Great job on being worship IC this year. (: Always singing, always bubbly and enthusiastic and always participating in cell! I like your energy! Thanks for all the questions, input and everything else you give in cell! All the best in cming next year! I'm sure you'll do great!

ANTHEA!

Anthea in one word is sweet! You're so sweet! Thanks for always being there. I really do appreciate it. You're like the quiet supporter. Yeah. Weird description but really, thanks for always being around and paying attention. Oh and I really like your POLKA DOTTED SHOES! Oh and the bangs. Love the bangs. You know why? Cuz I will never in a million years be able to pull off bangs. (:

DEBORAH (LIU)!

Deborah is in one word adorable! HAHA! Although you're the youngest in the cell, I hope you don't feel left out or anything! You're really sweet and you have a really cool sense of style too! And you always make me think of ushering. Haha. So random. Anyway. Keep smiling and stay sweet!

DEBORAH (LOCK)!

Deborah is in one word cheerful. You always have a huge grin on your face for everyone and it just brightens up everyone's day! Oh and you're really responsible too! Thanks for all the effort in attendance and other ACL-ly stuff. You rock at it! (: Oh and don't stress over the A-math! Guess who sucked at math so bad that she flunked like 2 years in a row and couldn't take A maths at all and eventually passed her O levels? ME! HA! So no worries. (: (Okay, so I'm not a good example. Don't learn!)

GABRIELLE!

Gabrielle is in one word fun. You are always laughing and cracking up everyone else. Random and super nice and FUN! Thanks for always adding that extra quotient in everything, whether during cell or cell outings or services or anything. Oh and you're really welcoming and warm too. (: Look forward to next year! (:

HUI JUN!

Hui jun in two words doesn't sleep. HAHAHA. She's my late night msn buddy! If there's one person who's up way way way late at night and to the mornings, it's Hui Jun. When I'm all sick and tired at like 2AM working on some project, she's there on msn. By the way, Hui Jun, you're really mature! (: Which is cool. Thanks for always being there and calming me down when I fly off my rocker. Oh and great fun working together on regional. :D *winks* All the best in poly my fellow polyer! Have fun! (:

PHYLLIS!

Phyllis in one word is girly. My fellow pink and hello kitty obsessed person! Thanks for your take charge-ness. You're going to make a great CL next year! (: And it's really entertaining listening to you talk in cell. With you around, there will be a constant flow of conversation. I LIKE! Oh and we have one more year to talk PINK! YAYNESS! (:

Shereen is in one word humourous. Seriously! She seems relatively quiet sometimes but again sometimes not. I love how you always come out with funny shereen-like sayings just at the right moment and crack me up. Oh and Shereen loves SNOOPY! Which is WAY COOL! You know why? Cuz I think people who can embrace their childish side and say I love snoopy (or hello kitty in my case) proudly is way cool! So way to go Shereen! The humourous snoopy lover! :D

YING YIAN!

Ying yian is in one word the brain (of POG!) Of couse, yours is way bigger than that. HAHA. Your attitude is something that I've wished for my entire 17 years but have never gotten. Ah wells. Anyway, thanks for being so regular by the way. You're always on time (something that I still can't do), always listening and paying attention and you're so HARDWORKING! I want to be that too. I love your intellect! (: Really. All the very best in whatever area of ministry you're going to next year! (: God bless!

i think everyone of us should blog a post about this year...
since its the end already. no more cell anymore..so yeah.
let's write out a review! :)

alright, personally i feel that POG is amazing :)
we consist of so many different kinds of people!
very gifted girls indeed :D hahaha!
we never quarrel or fight- and thats something very impressive!
although we have like the widest range of different loudness,
but we make a perfect blend anyway yeah? :D
cell lessons had been nice and smooth,
and i simply love it above all cos lessons in school are NEVER THAT SHORT :D
hahahahaha and i truly appreciate kylene and jolynn for being our cms,
going through all the church meetings and problems,
and still take out time to teach us every week :)

kylene had been a really cheerful and lively girl in cell.
and she is REALLY the kind of princess-like girl who is so very into the GIRLS world.
hahaha she's really cute sometimes :)

jolynn is a more cooler kind of person. although she speaks quite fast during lessons but i still can follow so nothing much to worry about. heh.
although she dont really present her sense of humour within her,
during games/activities she can be quite amusing sometimes :P

amanda has a very nice voice :) (duh, she's in camy and choir)
haha and we're always talking and complaining about school work/stuffs.
she's a smart and lovely girl, and i believe her future will be very bright ahead :D
as well as her sister deborah, very quiet but she got that highness within her.
just that she didnt unleash it during cell. HAHAHA :)
oh! and she loves sweet stuffs!( as in food, right?)

phyllis is a super duper complex person.
ive seen her through many of her up and down times(wahaha suprised? :P)
her life is super exciting one lah, like a roller-coaster that never ends.
but i really hope as she grows older she will come to experience many things in life and will not have so much troubles/worries :)
and sorry i know i didnt give you your polar bear(i seriously cant find any),
but one day if i see it i promise i'll get it for ya :D
and i'm always very entertain by the things you say,
although you're forever very agitated when saying things...
but still without you, our cell wouldnt be so alive :)

gabrielle is a very FUNNY GIRL! hahaha super carefree like anything.
and she loves to do hand-made stuffs!
i've received like so many gifts that are made from her...hahaha :)
she's fortunate to have evan as her sis lah, both can like talk about one thing for ever.
hehes.

yingyian is SUPER STUDY-HOLIC!
from the day midyear started she had been like mugging until o's are over?
one of the most quiet and hardworking girl in cell.
even when we go for cell breakfast at tiong bahru,
she can even bring her integration homework to do! *faints*
if i have half her hardworking-ness my mum would probably strike lottery.

deborah lock = laughing machine.
i ALWAYS see her laughing at anything and everything.
even when she's talking about her school life and how dead it is,
SHE CAN BE STILL SMILING! LOL!
yeah i bet if she sees this she'll start laughing too :P
happy-go-lucky girl...i still rmb when we first met she msged me every week to remind me to do my devotion. haha :)

anthea! she is the best candidate to receive the MOST QUIET AWARD of ALL TIME.
the only thing i rmb about her saying is her INTRO(which is a no choice thing),
and sometimes when we share about our week she'd say the same thing!
"fine...got alot of homework, and tuition. band practice."
hahaha correct correct? :P but she's a sweet girl.
she got that mysterious eyes for all i know.
(er, but doesnt mean i always look at her. ahem, nono)

HI POG!

Okay, new set of stuff again! Please do take note okay! (:

1. JOLYNN IS TRANSFERRING NEXT YEAR

Unfortunately, yes, Jolynn will be transferring to another cell next year. (: She'll be missed! She will be replaced by Elsa, a very nice person who is currently a CM from the Sec one side.

2. ADDITIONS TO POG NEXT YEAR

Apart from the 3 guys from Footsteps(refer to previous post if you're not sure), there will be some current sec one's who will be coming to POG too.

3. NEW NAME FOR POG NEXT YEAR

POG will be Princesses of God for about one more month! From next year onwards, we'll be People of God. This is the overall consensus. If you don't like it or want another name, please do bring it up in cell alright? Or just let me know. (:

4. EVANGELISTIC CELL MEETING

THIS IS IMPORTANT PLEASE TAKE NOTE!

Okay firstly, this is a pre-rhema invitation act. So this especially applies to those who are bringing friends to rhema or have already invited friends to the ECM.

The ECM has been changed to an individual cell event so no particular date or time and no there is no more ice-cream bash. There are TWO OPTIONS which you can pick from. For those who are bringing/inviting friends and those who have already told Jolynn that you are going please INFORM JOLYNN AGAIN! LET HER KNOW ABOUT YOUR CHOICE FROM THESE OPTIONS.

(If you are still blur or confused about what is going on, sms/email/call either me or Jolynn with whatever queries you have alright.)

OPTION ONE: Members can invite their friends for the cell and service on either 7th or 14th of DECEMBER.

OPTION TWO: Go for cell movie outing after the service, and treat (pay for) your pre-christian friend's ticket.

(*Note: You can claim the money for your friend's ticket from MICHAEL. Your own ticket is yours to pay.)

If you would prefer to do something else instead of these two options, that is fine as well. But again, please inform JOLYNN about what you want to do instead.

5. NE REGIONAL OUTING

Okay, this one has unconfirmed details but I'll tell you what I have so far and I'll update again when I have the complete details. We'll probably be playing some games, have some activities and eating dinner.

DATE: 20th DECEMBER

DAY: SATURDAY

TIME: 6PM

VENUE: TBC (TO BE CONFIRMED)

For this one, inform ME (KYLENE) about whether you are going or not. And even if you are or not, please inform me! If you are overseas and don't wish to sms, then EMAIL me. Thank you!

HI POG!

Since some of you are overseas, and some will be going overseas, I will post all updates, announcements, events on the blog. PLEASE do check regularly to ensure that you know what's going on. And feel free to ask if you have any questions. (:

Note: Of course, things can change anytime so really, not everything is 100% confirmed. That's life haha. But no worries, if there are any changes, I will update on the blog as well.

1. CHANGE OF VENUE IN 2009

Next year, we (and everyone else) will have to leave church as it will be unavailable. Which means, cell will no longer be conducted in our regular place. As far as I know, everyone would prefer to keep cell on Sunday as it just makes life easier for everyone. I'm sorry, but I'm afraid I will be unavailable on weekdays next year. Our venue is currently still unconfirmed. For those who are staying on in POG, if you have any suggestions, please put them up. (:

2. CELL VISITATION IN DECEMBER

Most probably on the first week of December, the 7th (Sunday) will be cell visitation. Which means that the there will be some current sec one's who will be visiting our cell.

3. SOW AND REAP

For S&R, what we are doing as a cell is we will be making our own bookmarks and then you will give them to your friends. Materials will be provided and it will be done during cell.

(This is no longer relevant. Do refer to new post.)

4. EVANGELISTIC CELL MEET

This is an event where you can bring your friends and it will be only our region. More details below. It will be a ice-cream bash so it'll be fun! PLEASE CONFIRM YOUR ATTENDANCE ASAP! To make it easier for the people who are planning this, thank you.

CHANGE IN SCHEDULE PLEASE NOTE!

Date: 6th DECEMBER has been changed to 5th DECEMBER
Day: Saturday has been changed to FRIDAY!

Yes, POG will be mixed next year. 3 guys from Footsteps cell will be joining our cell. They are Marcus Chong, Sean Poon and Daniel Tay. More people will be joining us as well. Will update you further.

6. POG CELL OUTING

We will be having our cell outing in December. More details below. If you have any questions regarding the cell outing, please ask Phyllis/Deborah (Lock).

Time: Will start at around 8.30am to 9am

This Pastor has guts!!!

Thought you might enjoy this, Its very interesting. This is a Prayer given

in Kansas at the opening session of their Senate. It seems Prayer still

upsets some people.

When Minister Joe Wright was asked to open the new sessionof the Kansas

Senate, Everyone was expecting the usual generalities, But this is what

they heard:

"Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to

seek your direction and guidance.

We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is

exactly what we have done.

We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.

We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.

We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare

We have killed our unborn and called it choice.

We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.

We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self

esteem.

We have abused power and called it politics.

We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.

We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it

freedom of expression.

The response was immediate.

A number of legislators walked out during the prayer in protest.

In 6 short weeks, Central Christian Church, where Rev. Wright is pastor,

logged more than 5,000 phone calls with only 47 of those calls responding

negatively.

The church is now receiving international requests for copies of this

prayer from India , Africa and Korea.

Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program, "The Rest

of the Story," and received a larger response to this program than any

other he has ever aired.

With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and whole

heartedly become our desire so that we again can be called "one nation

Under God."

Cool right! It's exactly what we need in this crazy world. May we always think of God in everything and anything we do!

Hii everyone,this evening was great ya? Firstly I would like to congrat shereen for receiving the batipsm of the holy spirit! U really step out in faith and took a step of courage to go forward, well done>wee! Actually for me I already had the batipsm of the holy spirit in me but for today I juz want something more,cuz i thought how come those pastors or my seniors could speak really well but mine are juz plain ones... But anyway,it's really a wonderful experience today! Indeed, I did shiver too.When I raise my hands up,I also could feel that my hand is shaking haha. I could really experience what Shereen and Evan went through. Lastly I want to thank phyllis and Amanda for praying for the both of us. today was a really high day until just now.
anyways.just let me talk about the 1st part first.
well,went to church the first person i bumped into after getting out of the car was aidan
and his mum of course.
then i met aunty lily and the liu sisters, amanda and deborah.
went for cell.
kylene was watching about awaiting the future.what we as disciples of God should be weary of,etc.
i'm so gonna miss when she goes for her holiday/studies!
then esther was explaining the meaning of revival service.
anyways.today is revival service.
as i was listening to sermon, i started questioning myself.
how ready am i? am i hungry for the Lord?
how is God going to use me if i don't even rely on him?
so altar call i went forward wanting to be hungry for him.

i was really happy!
i saw people i havent seen or talked for a long time.
people like valerie, abigail, sharon& audrey.
i really miss themhahas.so left church to ah ma's house for mother's day celebration.
by the time we reach, isaac they all were there.
had lunch.hang out with marcus,isaac and joel
while rachel and dawn were have something private.
then all 6 of us went to the basketball court to play basketball.
cos i wore heels so i took of my shoes and played barefoot
stupid me!
because of that the skin at the sole of my feet got burned and it's really painful.
i cant walk properly till now!
[probably need to listen to choon hwee's advice of getting people to carry me]
anyways.went home.rest awhile.left the house for another celebration at some place.
had dinner which i really eat very little.
talked to korkors and aloysius during dinner.
i somehow can click better with the guys.
since young.i'm always playing or teasing guys.
probably too used to it.who knows.
came home.bath.watch tv.then go online.
guess what i saw.
i shouldnt go to my blog!
i saw what joy wrote.

Anyway, speaking of scared and cold, i was scared and cold too!
The air con must be up to something, erm, i was shivering....
Scared. Frankly I was quite scared when the pastor ( what's his name...benjamin?) came over to lay his hand on me. (Right, I was quite weepy, so by right I shouldn't be thinking of such things.) But I was really quite scared i would get slained Not that I don't want to experience it, but I was really quite worried I'll hit my head...bang into people(I'm serious ok.)
Yeah, but I didn't.

Right, that aside. I want to share something that dawned on me this afternoon.
As all of you grow up, start serving, I want to encourage all of you to continue to be hungry for the things of God. You know, don't be satisfied with where you are, the experiences you had. You're never 'too old' to experience the awe and wonder of standing in God's presence again and again.

For those of you who 'didn't feel anything', don't let anybody cause you to feel that 'because you're not hungry enough that's why you weren't crying/ speaking in tongues', etc. Well, perhaps deep inside your heart you know that might be true, you might not be right before God, but I hope that you don't 'stay there' in that mindset. Remember God does NOT only 'appear' during revival services/ retreats/ camps. I hope that your prayer would always be to let God "Take me pass the outer courts, into the Holy Place..."

i think it was a great experience.
i mean like, seriously i was kinda scared to receive the gift of speaking tongues.
but still, went up for the alter call with huijun.
and honestly, i was kinda freezing cos it was so cold!!!
yeah, so when pastor ronald was praying, i felt the Holy Spirit's presence.
but still i was abit afraid inside.
cos pastor ronald said to speak out after the count of three.
i was thinking "crap if nothing comes out or some nonsense came out how?"
but of course, i had faith! i was like "okay this is gonna be amazing"
HA i think im weird.
so eventually i blabbered out some sayings. and i got shocked?
i was like "oh no what is this? sounds so weird? am i saying the right thing?"
and the fact is that i dont even know what am i speaking.
okay so i stopped. but pastor ronald said carry on.
oh well, so i thought okay, go on go on.
i was so indulge in that moment until i dont even know what songs were sang.
ahh yes, soon after people came to assure me i got it :D
one of them was suhui jie :)
she came beside me cos i could hear her breath(hahaha),
then i stopped. and murmured. cos i was scared if i sounded funny.
so later on at the end people came to pray for me....including the cell girls! yay :D
oh, actually before the prayer even started i was tearing, dont know why.
but only a few tears thank goodness.
ahaha but it was really great :)

well,i believe everyone is feeling stress due to exams.

as you know, i'm a very short-tempered person.
and every little thing i will just get stress up.
this week i learn something.
i hope it may help you people are stress up like me.

i realise that if you are feeling stress,
you can just sing a song to yourself ,esp christian songs.
somehow,when i do that,i feel relax.
another way is that,if i'm too stress up and i can't sleep, i will pray.
as i pray,i will fall asleep which is quite bad i think.
hahas.

Wow Wow!!! Finally my mye is over! haha... long time nv blog le~
after such an "exciting" and hectic week,I really want to thank GOD for bringing me through all the stress...
It's really great to know that God is still there and he always will when we need him:) Honestly speaking i don't think i will do well for my mye...haizz BUT!
I thank god for being there with me all e time especially when i'm doing e very tough A maths paper which i'm not so gd at...He is there watching over me stressing over those tough ques,when i ask for help,I know that he did help me because after praying I hv some solutions for it(don't know correct or not)haha
Finally one last thing,the worst was when I took my geo paper,my mind juz went blank!!! I don't know why...I felt really worried and disappointed...I made all e effort to memorise but it juz went blank on the spot...I really cried out to him<<
even though i could not remember all but at least i wrote something down^_^
I'm really grateful for all the things he has done for me and no matter what the result will end up to be,I still thank him

hello everyone,

WHAAAA i read all your posts and I acutally teared!!
I'm really so glad to see all of you looking out for each other, praying and loving each other so genuinely.
I'm also really heartened to see some of you responding for altar calls and the rest of you coming up to hold them in prayer. It's a really lovely sight ( i think the 2 CMs will agree with me):)
I guess that's somewhat like the church in Acts 2, where the members met frequently and enjoyed the company with each other and with the Lord. That's what a cell is for!

Anyway, I gained access here not only to tell all of you how much all of you have grown as a cell.
I'm here to add on to what Phyllis had said about Phil 4:8.It's not only fill your mind with fun and happy things (that's positive thinking). Instead, it's to think of things that are PLEASING to our GOD and to be reminded of the ways He has been faithful to us, blessing us. Instead of allowing the devil to fill our minds with gossips and hatred and envy,etc.

I know the Maggie Mee thing has been quite troubling. Hmm,i found it quite disturbing myself when i first heard about it. So let's put Phil 4:8 into action. For Phyllis, maybe she can think of how God has blessed her with a wonderful cell that understands her and keeps her in prayer(instead of thinking how stumbling MM has been). For the rest, maybe you can think about how God has placed leadership to guide us. And you know, as human beings, we fail. In the same way, we should keep those up there in prayer instead of harbouring hatred in our hearts. That's thinking about what's true and pure.

Right, that's all. I know i'm very lor sor, but I hope you've learnt something from here.

heys.today is my turn to post!
well,this week had been rather hectic for me
exams started,my friends are telling their problems,
i'm having a hard time trying to solve them
but i'm pressing on!
well, last week, evan gave me verse to help me along with maggie mee situation
now it is used because of all the thing that are happening in my life
and hopefully to yours
it is from phillipians 4:8

it simply means think about things that are fun and will make you happy.
by doing so, you will not bother all the rubbish in the world

Alright, as Kylene has said, we're gonna have cell breakfast cause EVERYONE(except some) are having their MYEs, so thus, it'll be tiring to prepare worship, so we're gonna have cell breakfast! Horray? (: Anyways, here are the few places we can have breakfast, so please choose! & reply on the tagboard :D

First: Ikea
Second: YaKun at either Tiong or Far East
Third: Picnic at Botanic Gardens
Forth: Macs at Tanglin
Fifth: Redhill Market
Sixth: Bring food & have it in church

HELLO!

Guess where am I right now? I'm having a 4 hour break before my next class, finished lunch and hanging around school with part of my class. Such are the joys of poly life. Anyway, why in the world am I blogging here you ask? Because I suddenly have the urge to say something and since I don't feel like saying anything on my own blog, I shall just say it here. (: So how are all of you? Hope you're hanging there! The exam period just sucks, I know. And what have I been up to? Well, for radio today, I went around school asking random students questions. Anyway, you're probably not interested. Give me a moment, I'm waiting for the words to come.

I know I am random but just bear with me. (: Oh, by the way, the internet connection is better here than at home. For some funny reason, my home's wireless network just doesn't work with the mac. Humphs. Oh I successfully finished my radio report! 500 words! So happy. Next up is psychology report. 800 words! And nope, I haven't started. I'm on a roll here, so I'm just typing whatever comes to mind. Did I ever mention I love my school's campus? It's huge and it makes me happy. I love big buildings. I love my course. Gosh, I've said that like so many times but I don't care! I love my course, I love the people in it, I love my class. They're such a fun crazy bunch. :D

I, unfortunately, have written communication later, or simply writcom, as we call it. That's the only boring module I have to take. I never really like grammar. You know, I was about to say something but it slipped my mind. Erm... Nevermind, forget it, I forgot. Tomorrow's labour day! Yay! I love holidays don't you?

Well, I suppose that's it. This post falls under anything and everything right? It should. Do remember to let me know whether you are going for laser quest! So far, Deborah Lock, Phyllis and Gabrielle has told me, how about the rest??

i pray that may You bless everyone of us in the cell with a fabulous week ahead,
and give us wisdom to well for our upcoming midyear examinations. Lord i pray that may You bless us with a good healthy body, that we will be able to study to the best of our abilities. Help us Lord not to forget you in the midst of our study period, but to find strength in You in whatever we do. Help us Lord to be able to concentrate and not be distracted by any other things, and that we will be able to achieve our desired results. Take away our stress oh Lord, and teach us how to overcome it in times of struggle, and that we may come to experience your awesome love. Thank you Lord.

regional outing

ANNOUNCEMENT :)

There will be a regional outing in May, what we'll be doing is play laser quest. Yes, it is that game that was supposed to happen in March but got cancelled. Anyway, here are the details.

Date: 24 May SATURDAY

Time: 4-6pm

Venue: opposite G2
